And when I'm weary and overwrought
with so many battles left unfought
I think of Paul and Silas in the prison yard
I hear their song of freedom rising to the stars
And when the Saints go marching in
I want to be one of them
"When the Saints" by Sara Grove
"About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened." - Acts 16:25-27
I get to see this every Monday night and more!!!
3 Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully on the strings, with
loud shouts.
4 For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all his work is done in
faithfulness.
5 He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of
the Lord.
Psalm 33
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." - 2 Corinthians 5:17

I'm Not a Writer
My housemates, Abbie and Alison, are writers - beautiful ones. As much as I loathe English and couldn't be happier that I never have to take another English class for the rest of my life (yay!!), I wish I had their ability to say what's on my heart the way that I felt it. To be able to find the right words and put them together the right way to get across what exactly I'm feeling in that moment is freakin' hard! I don't give them enough credit, because they are pretty phenomenal at it!
I'm not a writer. I'm kind of the opposite - I'm a Zoology major, a pretty big science nerd. The hardest class I've ever taken was this class I just finished up, ZOO 305, Animal Physiology. The whole time we studied how the human body works - which is so amazing! The reason I love science is because I love seeing the creativity and wisdom that God possesses because of the fact that He spoke life into the heavens, the earth, and to us, His creation. The "small" fact that water is less dense as a solid than as a liquid makes ice float and keeps our planet from flooding during the winter. Winter and Spring and Fall and Summer, creating all the seasons and the beauty that comes with them. In the Fall and Spring, plants can detect the differences in the amount of light/the length of day so they know whether they should lose their leaves or spring new ones. All of it is so amazing and I love studying it!
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. - Genesis 1:27
God can be seen in everything. When I've been studying physiology for 7 hours straight and learning the 3 layers of the adrenal cortex and each hormone produced at each level, God is all over that! When I look in the mirror, or walk to class and see my friends, God's there too!
The fact that I am not a writer, and God has blessed me with 2 friends who are amazing at it, shows how God has blessed us all with different interests, and senses of humor, and gifts, and shows God's creativity as well. Man. God's amazing!
