I'm Not Together

Psalm 51:16-17

For you will not delight in sacrifices, or I
would give it;
you will not be pleased with a burnt
offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God,
you will not despise.


2 things I love about Psalm 51:16-17,
a) the definition of contrite = filled with a sense of guilt and a desire for atonement.
b) the only way God can deal with our broken and contrite heart is through Jesus Christ.


Being in a broken state, when life is hard, and your heart breaks constantly, makes me see God so much in my life. Sometimes I would just love for my life to be easy and comfortable and I would love to live a "typical college life" or just the American dream. Then when I really think about it, Christ is so much better.
